R.S. Chicago Photography Classes & Out of Chicago Proudly Present
The White City, A photo project & its inspiration - Part I
Join internationally awarded photographer, Angie McMonigal as she shares in the journey to create her series "The White City", which was inspired by Erik Larson’s The Devil In The White City.
On the Thursday evening prior to the workshop (May 4th), we will meet on-line and Angie will give a brief presentation of the inspirational details behind the White City series. You will have the opportunity to ask questions to get your creative juices flowing.
On the first day, Saturday, May 6, we will start at Navy Pier and spend the entire day (8am - 4pm) photographing many of the locations seen in her series images. You will create your own version of these locations based on your unique vision, whether related to Larson’s book or a source of inspiration unique to you. Angie will be there to help guide you through this process while on location.
On the second day, we will meet at the studio (9am - 1pm), where Angie shares her post-processing techniques involved in this series. You’ll then work on your own images, coming away with many prints of your own.
Stops include: Union Station, The Rookery, The Palmer House, Art Institute, Buckingham Fountain, Field Museum & the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel.
